Birds of Victoria

Victoria is a pretty special place with the ocean, hills, the migration route of many species of birds flying over from the Olympic Peninsula.

I’ve heard stories of eagles and turkey vultures barely making it over the Juan de Fuca Strait and struggling mere feet off the water to get to the Vancouver Island.

Yes, there are plenty of your standard birds here: robins, gulls, eagles, vultures, starlings and sparrows. But even though they are commoners, they are still fun to photograph.
